USTA Jr. Team Tennis is the largest youth tennis program in the country, helping boys and girls ages 5 to 18 get in the game, get on court, and have a great time.

All levels of play are available from beginner through advanced. The emphasis is on developing skills through play, fun, teamwork and friendly competition plus the possibility of advancing to state, section, and national championships.

Recreational and competitive play are available.

Younger players and beginners learn via the 10 and Under Tennis program and Short Court formats. A shortened court, modified balls, and smaller rackets are used to introduce young players to tennis so they can start playing right away.

  • Under 8 years* - 36' court, red balls
  • Ages 10 and under - 60' Short Court, orange balls
  • Ages 12 and under - 60' Short Court, green balls
  • Ages 14 and under - 78' court, yellow balls
  • Ages 18 and under - 78' court, yellow balls

*Child must turn 5 years old by June 30, 2017.

For Championship Year 2017, which starts Sept. 1, 2016, any player with a junior rating of 3.5 and above must play at the Advanced level in National Championship JTT. This change is being put into effect to create level-based competition and to help ensure that players have a positive experience.
